With the large development of city construction, the contradiction between the increased demand of the land and the shortage of the land for construction become sharpened, which put forward high requirements in rational exploitation and in improving the utilization ratio of the land. The development of the underground space becomes a new trend, which has got more and more attention. Under this background, uplift pile as a type of foundation is widely used and become the main method for underground building and structure to resist the water buoyancy. The design and calculation theory of the uplift pile has got a lot of attention in engineering field.Although the uplift pile is widely used, its theory is relatively backward. This paper has given research on the characteristics of bearing capacity and deformation properties of the uplift pile which is based on the existing related research results. The main content of this paper are listed as follows:1,This paper has not only given research on the calculation methods of tension piles with uniform cross section in bearing capacity and deformation, but also has derived some analytical formulas based on the exsiting related theories.2,The calculation theories of compressive pile and tension pile with uniform cross section are applied to the analysis and research of the anti-uplift pile with enlarged bottom in uplift mechanism and bearing capacity as well as deformation. Meanwhile, applicable conditions of different calculation theories have also been discussed.3,This paper has made a lot of analysis in the characteristics of bearing capacity and deformation properties of uplift pile through full-scale test of tension pile with uniform cross section and anti-uplift pile with enlarged bottom as well as some comparative analysis.
