The reinforced concrete rib arch bridge was one kind of bridges in the 1990s in the southwest of our country, which was applied most widly. After undergoing more than 10 years using, most of these bridges has in reliefed a series of plant diseases which is needed to be treated urgently.But so far there is no quite maturely technology to be used for the instructment of reinforcement and treatment of the reinforced concrete rib arch bridge.This paper is mainly about reinforced concrete arch rib bridges'remarkable oblique load effect raising, decline of the arch overall stiffness and lacking of ultimate capacity due to cracking, bad horizontal distribution and arch axis deformation, and so on. To solve the structural and functional problems, the paper present a method called Reinforced concrete rib arch bridge converter box section reinforcemen technology, Which aimed at modifying the transverse distribution and optimizing the location of the arch by improving the new reinforced concrete box. Through which we can enhance the overall stiffness of the structure, reduce the load of a single arch under the same load, improve cross-section of the situation, so as to enhance the limit of capacity rib arch bridge.Through the investigation of the disease of the rib arch bridge in different places, we analysis the causes and mechanism of typical rib disease by acquiring a huge amount of information and data on the disease. Basing on which, we creatively put up the theory of the box Section conversion reinforcement technology of the reinforced concrete rib arch bridge. And we analysis the mechanism of this reinforcement technology through three aspects: the theory of the constant improvement in the horizontal distribution, the theory of increasing cross-section , and the theory of fracture mechanics, and by doing this, we lay the theoretical foundation of the reinforcement technology. A 1:15 model arch testing and conversion critical box-section arch reinforcement model test had been done after that. We can verify the applicability of the reinforcement technology by comparing the the horizontal distribution, stress level and capacity of the structure before and after reinforcement by using the data of the test. After summing up and rich, we ultimately improve the design ,the theory and construction of this reinforcement technology, and we put up the technology of reinforcement which is suitable for the rib arch bridge of reinforced concrete by integrating all kinds of the reinforcement of old bridges made of reinforced concrete.According to the structure of the force characteristics, reinforced concrete critical box-section reinforcement technology conversion rib arch bridge confirms optimization method and theory through reasonable consolidation concept and rational reinforced thickness. Through making comparison of arch reinforcement model before and after, the tests revealed the role the reinforcement had played in the entire structure destruction process and its affection in the ultimate shape of damage.
