With the rapid progress of china's economy, the expressway construction has developed very quickly. There are many characteristics in the expressway construction, such as cycle, investment, technology and other factor .The problem of soft ground is becoming more and more protrusive and has been one of key factors influencing project quality ,project cycle and project cost. Since soft ground have many characteristics such as high natural containing water rate, high natural small opening ratio, high compressing coefficient, low resisting cut capacity, low infiltration ratio and low carrying capacity,high sedimentation under loading. So it has become a very important task to strengthen the research on the improvement of expressway soft ground, which affects the development of traffic project in China. There are much important theoretic and practical significance.Based on system engineering, artificial intelligence, comprehensive evaluate, fuzzy mathematics, and combined with the latest development of geo-technique and soil mechanics, the thesis studies many aspects of problems to establish intelligent decision support system of expressway ground improvement. This abstract introduces concisely as follows:1. It expresses briefly the purpose and significance of the article, and introduces comprehensively present research situation, existing problems and research prospect of ground improvement. Based on systems analysis of decision problems of expressway ground improvement, it puts forward research subject and chief contents of intelligent decision model of soft soil improvement methods.2. The intelligent decision model of the soft soil improvement methods using Case-Based Reasoning is presented for the first time. It is shown form examples that results of the decision model is simple, visual, practical and convenient to use.3. It uses the MATLAB-FIS for the first time to create the fuzzy decision model on the ground improvement of expressway. It also analyses the influential factors of ground improvement, finds out the key factors, and makes the filling height, thickness of soft soil and the original void-ratio as the input parameters of decision model. Then their subject functions are formed according to the clearing up and the statistics of many practical data. Finally the fuzzy inference principle is founded based on many experiments. The model carried out the practical value combining with the material engineering. 4. The technical decision of ground improvement is a multi-object fuzzy mathematics programming problem. The decision model of the soft soil improvement methods based on fuzzy analogy preferred ratio is put forward. In the model, fuzzy analogy preferred relationship between feasible methods and the ideal one is determined, and the similar series in them in every affecting factor is given. Determining their factor weights using the analytic hierarchy process, the comprehensive similar series in them is carried out, and the most similar soft ground improvement method to ideal one is found out.
