Research On Search Method Of Power System Cascading Failure Mode

This paper presents a new idea of searching method of cascading failure mode. Risk index is applied to search for weak nodes and areas of the network in order to form the primary failure set, every failure of the set is analyzed further, the paper provides overloading severity index according to the overloading feature of lines, searches for lines with hidden failure by zoning the network topology with graph theory based on topology and flow, then calculates flow to get cascading failure sequences. By further researching on cascading failures'process, we obtain that not only overloading phenomena happens, but also buses'low-voltage, based on that, this paper uses the overloading severity functions and low voltage severity function of buses to measure whether the system parameters have violated the limit to decide the system's action to form subsequent events, it is another method. Finally, we use Power World and Matlab to demonstrate the two methods, and the result proves the rationality of the methods...
