What the electric power professionals in modern times concern are the problem of thepower system cascading failures and the research about the vulnerable power grid on thebasis of analysis of the cascading failures, which are also an important research fieldneeding theoretical guidance as the power system at present works. It becomes a key pointthat how to set up more pragmatic cascading failure models and find the factors of powersystem vulnerability.This thesis quests cascading cut process of the power system cascading failures andraises identification methods of vulnerable power system for cascading failures. Focusingon the simulation of circuit branch cut in power system cascading failures and theproblems of vulnerable power transmission network, this thesis is extended into threelevels: the first level provides the related region of power system cascading failures andtheir parameter, and offers division methods of fault-related region; the second level on thebase of secondary cascading over-load power grid, studies the change rule of thecascading overload in different working conditions, based on which the influence ofdifferent working conditions on the stability of power system is studied and thevulnerability of power transmission network is analyzed; based on the complex network,the third level combines the working factors to research on electric betweenness indicatorand the identical methods of vulnerable power transmission structure, and raises thepreventing and controlling strategy to power transmission cascading failures in the end.This thesis adopts the general idea combined theoretical analysis and simulationverification to research on how to identify the vulnerable power system transmission,which supplies theory to power system stability.So far, there is no model of cascading failures unanimously approved by the relevantfield, but certain achievements have been gained in power grid vulnerability and structuralvulnerability, which supply some theoretical basis for safe and stable operation of powernetwork. As the intelligent power system constructs, the problems of vulnerable powersystem becomes more and more serious, then various research results on the cascadingfailures surely will offer helps in the construction of strong intelligent power system.
