With the development of power electronics technology, harmonic issues are attracting increasing attention. But when people study harmonics,they always ignore the background harmonics of power system. Based on measured harmonic voltage and current data, this paper used"binary linear regression"analysis method to identify the background harmonic voltage of power system. And then reviewed the conventional methods of harmonic current direction identification, and proposed an improved method of the old methods. This paper also improved the identification methods of the system harmonic impedance, and the results based on measured data show that this improvement is reasonable and effective. In addition, this paper also explained the mutation of the background harmonic voltage and system harmonic impedance in the identification results reasonably.
