Influenced by joining the primary frequency modulation and the coal quality variation, the new test was faced to the large generating sets steam temperature control. Based on the mechanism analysis, through the correlation analysis of a 600MW load generating set between the main disturbance signal of steam temperature system and the main steam temperature signal, the major factors of steam temperature fluctuation was from the combustion disturbance. The transfer functions of steam temperature calculated under several load were analyzed by means of frequency domain characteristics, and it was found the same as the band-pass filter characteristics. For the major frequency of combustion disturbance was within the pass band, so it was difficult for single cascade control system to effectively damp the combustion disturbance, and the feed-forward control is found the effective solution to the new problem in current circs, and the control scheme based on the energy balance ideology is developed based on it, the theoretic feasibility is validated and the applicability for practical projects is analyzed in the end.
