With the rapid development of high-speed railway, the capacity is increasing, and more and more material of high electromagnetism and heat burthen are adopted in the design of traction motors, which result in the temperature getting higher and higher. The temperature-rise is the most important factors that influence the running reliability, so it is important to analyze the temperature field in traction motors. While design traction motors, the relation of stable temperature-rise and some other targets should be reasonably distributed, which influence the final result of the design. The distribution of the temperature should be calculated first, then the capability and consume of the material could be adjusted, which will make the design more reasonable, and help to avoid the unsuccessful design. It makes sense to study the temperature field of the traction motors. The electromagnetic field and temperature field is researched by taking 300kw asynchronous traction motors. According to the theory of the electromagnetism, the mathematical model of 2D electromagnetic field is found, and the distribution of the loss is got after analyzing the startup-process. Then according to the thermal theory, the mathematical model of 3D is found, and the loss and coefficient of cool are also given. With the software ANSYS, the temperature field is calculated and analyzed. By comparing the result of calculated and measured, the approach is proved to be right. Finally, some factors which influence the distribution of the temperature of stator is analyzed, and get some helpful conclusions. In this thesis, the temperature field of asynchronous traction motors is analyzed by using coupled method; the finite model and the edge of the solution region are found; the coefficient is given, and some factor which influence the distribution of the temperature field is analyzed, which could provide consult for the design of the traction motors.
