In order to ensure the safety of train operation, improve the transportation efficiency and strengthen the market competitiveness for railway system, the Ministry of Railways has brought forward the Chinese Train Control System (CTCS) which adapts to our nation. With the development of CTCS, a series of CTCS specifications will be taken for the standard of modern railway and put into practice. And it has determined to apply CTCS-3 technique to the construction of Wuhan-Guangzhou Railway. So, it is urgent to validate whether the equipment functions meet CTCS standards or not. Besides, it is not long since the CTCS has been proposed and little research has been done concerning the test and evaluation of CTCS equipment. Although there are some published ETCS specifications on the test of ETCS onboard equipment, research must be done to solve the key algorithms. In this paper it mainly research on the test methodology of RBC which is one of the cores of CTCS-3. RBC plays an important role in guarantying the train safety and improving the transport efficiency. Moreover, there is no published specification on the test of RBC at present, so it is more important and urgent for us to do relative research about RBC to verify whether its system functions satisfy its SRS or not.This paper focuses mainly on the test methodology of RBC equipment in theory. To begin with, it introduces the members of CTCS-3 and theirs functions. And emphatically analyses the detail function and interfaces of RBC. Then, based on the CTCS-3 simulation environment already established in the lab, the architecture of the test platform for RBC is designed, which describes the interfaces of RBC with field equipment of CTC, interlocking equipment, onboard equipment and neighbor RBC. Furthermore, hundreds of features are extracted according to the SRS of RBC. And also hundreds of test cases are laid out. Finally, the method of designing the test sequences based on Chinese Postman Problem is described. Six states of RBC for instance startup of RBC, standby of RBC, acceptance of train, management of train, handover of train and task end of RBC are summarized aimed at the control of RBC to one train. Several RBC test sequences are laid out in table based on the transform among RBC states, realizing RBC test on the visible interfaces.
