Reactive Powder Concrete (RPC) is a new type cement-based composite material ultra-high strength, low brittleness and high durability. The new type material is used in some engineerings in the world and shows good prospect. Based on systematical analysis and research on the flexural behavior of RPC beams with steel bars, the crack resistance and bending capacity of the cross section of RPC beam are discussed. It is valuable reference for RPC to be used in the engineering structure.Three rectangular RPC beams with steel bars are tested on the flexural behavior. The experiment results are analyzed and the factors to affect the flexural behavior are studied. Comparing with conventional reinforced concrete beam, the crack resistance and bending capacity of RPC beam are improved remarkably. Furthermore, the nonlinear finite element analysis is carried out on the three RPC beams. The finite element models are used to simulate the experimental process in ANSYS. The results of the finite element analysis and the experiment are compared with each other. According to the theory of conventional reinforced concrete beam, the calculating methods of crack resistance and flexural capacity of RPC beam are summarized. The relative height of ultimate compressive region, and the maximum and minimum reinforcement ratio are also presented.
