Reactive Powder Concrete (RPC) is a new generation complex material. It is believed to have a promising application prospect because of its many excellent properties such as ultra-high strength, ultra-high toughness and durability. However, the study of RPC is mainly concentrated in material proportioning optimization and primary mechanics performance, while seldom research work is conducted on failure modes, calculation method, design method and structural measures for RPC bearing component. Some domestic institutional and individuals use the conventional reinforced concrete design theory while designing the RPC bearing component, which has caused an enormous waste.Based on the experiment of researching rectangular RPC beam's flexural properties completed by Dr. Li li in Harbin Industrial University and on the domestic and foreign data in the related field, the flexural capacity of RPC beam and their influence factors are analyzed and studied in this paper, moreover, the significant studies about the calculating methods to determine normal section crack-resistant capacity and ultimate bearing capacity of rectangular RPC beam are thoroughly discussed here. What's more, the relationship with factorκ,γrm,βrtm and reinforcement ratio p is discussed respectively first time. And according to the theory of conventional reinforced concrete beam, the calculating methods of crack resistance and flexural capacity of RPC are summarized. Furthermore, the nonlinear finite element analysis is carried out on the five RPC example beams. The finite element models are used to simulate the experimental process in ANSYS. The results of the finite element analysis and the example are compared with each other. This article contains 38 pictures,19 tables,44 references articles.
