The study is a new subject in special background which is about settlement numerical simulation of stranding ship in ocean environment. The subject is difficult and creative,so that it can be used as the reference in the future. This paper firstly analyses the research status which is about numerical simulation of the interaction of structure and soil, and settlement calculation in the current. It finds out the essence of the new problem and proposes a thought of numerical simulation.Namely,it uses other means to calculate the size of the load at first, establishes the dynamic interaction system of ship with the seabed, loads the different power onto the system, and then uses the integral method for settlement calculation. It detaily analyses the relevant issues of the theoretical foundation, including numerical simulation of the interaction of structure and soil and finite element basic theory.Based on the software ABAQUS, this paper displays the created process of the mathematical model. It Includes seabed model, ship model, the contact simulation of ship with seabed, load definition and calculation method. Through physical model experiment, the settlement mathematical model is verified correctly. The paper takes WD.Fairway as a project example which runs aground in bohai bay in March 8th, 2007. It displayes the settlement process of the stranding ship, including analysis of natural conditions, the establishment of mathematical model, the settlement calculation of ship under the action of deadweight, water flow, wave flow, wind flow and takes into account the erosion of sediment and soil consolidation on the impact of the ship' settlement. The results show that the ship itself from the enormous gravity is the main reason of the ship' subsidence with a large amplitude. Water flow, wave flow, wind flow, sediment erosion and soil consolidation also results in different degree of subsidence, However, the proportion is smaller.
