Compared to other motors, permanent magnet synchronous motor provided with simpler and firmer structure, lower cost, higher fault tolerant, energy density and operation temperature, higher torque during low speed etc. It has become more and more widely used in the field of Starter/Generator(S/G) system for aviation and automobile. In the project, the electromechanical energy transformation part is the exterior-gibbose permanent magnet synchronous motor.Firstly, we discussed the structure and application information of ISAD for automobile, and then elaborated the basic theory of permanent magnet synchronous motor; Secondly, on the base of Ansoft(Rmxprt), the design steps and structure parameter of exterior-gibbose permanent magnet synchronous was given, and the transient FEA mode was established. Next, a series of started performance simulation was carried out by Ansoft(Maxwell 2D) and analysis was made on the base of simulation result. was discussed. Thirdly, Based on FEA, parameter compute and the influence of parameter change to started performance was discussed.Moreover, a comparison on the started performance among permanent magnet synchronous motor and switched reluctance motor was made. the power driver system based on IPM and the interface circuit applying to PMSM have been designed according to the strategy. the software system based on the main chip TMS320F2812 of TI company for PMSM has been designed, and, Then the design projects and flow charts of PWM interruption service module were given to us.At last, on the base of theory analysis research, the experiment platform was established and started experiments of exterior-gibbose permanent magnet synchronous motor were carried out and the experiment results were generally accord with the simulation results above.
