In this paper, the high specific surface activated carbon(HSAAC) was made from the conductive bamboo carbon by the activation of KOH.The influence of the different activating parameters on the structures and the capabilities of HSAAC had been studied.The fabricating parameters was designed by investigating the impact of the parameters on the electrochemical performances of the electrodes prepared with HSAAC.Finally,the effects of the different activating parameters on the electrochemical performances of the electrodes were. discussed.The following conclusions could be deserved through the investigation.It was indicated that the mass of KOH,the activating temperature and the activating time were the main factors which affected the structures and properties of HSAAC based on the bamboo carbon And the mass of KOH played the most important part.The yield and the iodine absorptive capabilities of HSAAC all increased first and decreased then with the increasement of the mass of KOH.The HSAAC which the high specifc surface was 1848m~2/g was harvested when the KOH-to-bamboocarbon ratio was 2.5:1,the activating temperature was 800℃and the activating time was 1h.The different activating parameters had an effect on the charge-discharge diagrams, cyclic voltammograms and Nyquist plots of the electrodes which were prepared with HSAAC based on bamboo carbon accordingly. On the whole, the charge-discharge diagram of the electrodes was an isosceles triangle obviously.And their cyclic voltammograms curves were close to rectangle. The Nyquist plot was an semi-circle that was caused by Faraday reaction at high frequenciy and was a Warburg bias at intermediate frequency while it was a vertical line to x-axes at low frenquency.The proportion of graphite that of PTFE and the marinating time had an important effection on the electrochemical performances of the electrodes prepared with HSAAC based on bamboo carbon.The study indicated that the electrodes would show the best performances when the proportion of graphite was 10%,the percent of the PTFE was 10% and the favorable marinating time was 5h while its capacitance could reach to 51.25F/g.
