The water level of the middle and upper reaches of the Changjiang River will rise by a wide margin after sanxia reservoir stores water . But the altitude of the road along the Changjiang River and its tributaries is low relatively . These roads are affected by water unavoidably and developed into the embankment soaked in water . The roads' diseases will be more and more little by little with the effect of high water level and long time . So how to keep the stability of the roads becomes a question worthy of being researched . This thesis , on the basis of a section of high fills embankment soaked in water which height is 34 meter , a part of the highway from fengdu county to zhong county in sanxia reservoir area , presents the factors having an effect on stability of high fills embankment soaked in water . It also puts forward the method to analyze slope stability of the high fills embankment soaked in water .A conclusion is drawn in this paper that following factors—water level , height of embankment , property of filling and reinforcement , have an important effect on stability of high fills embankment , and the changing law of cross-range displacement and vertical displacement is analyzed with the effect of the four factors .The paper lays emphasis on the research of the method to to analyze slope stability of the high fills embankment soaked in water . The slide area is supposed to be circular arc form in the classic method of checking the stability of embankment soaked in water . But this method doesn't apply to the analysis of the stability of high fills embankment soaked in water . This paper reaches conclusions of the form and the place of the most dangerous slide area of high fills embankment soaked in water and the reasonable method to analyze the stability of its slope : The reasonable method to analyze the stability of the slope of high fills embankment soaked in water should be polygonal line method . The most dangerous slide area is the compound slide area that passes the left edge of the subgrade and the foot of slope . The slide area of the embankment filled with soil is circular arc form , so the circular arc method is the most reasonable method to analyze the stability of its slope . The slide area of the reinforcement embankment is polygonal line form . It is more reasonable to use polygonal line method to analyze the stability of its slope .According to the testing results on-site , the paper gives a forecast of (?) subsidence of high fills embankment after soaked in water . On the basis of the results of model test, the measure of enhancing the stability of the high fills embankment and three structures of high fills embankment soaked in water are presented in this paper .
