Vehicle ride performance is an important task in research on the development of vehicle technique, and it is one of the most important factors affecting the ride comfortableness, which influents not only the dynamic and economy performance of vehicle to full play, but also the service life of the parts in vehicle. So simulation analysis of automotive ride performance has great significance for optimization design and improvement of vehicle performance.The existing simulation analysis mode of automotive ride performance, such as the models of 5-DOF and 8-DOF, has a weak reflection on the vibration of vehicle accurately and completely. The 5-DOF model can't reflect the moving state or the rolling of automobile, while the rolling property is an important index reflecting the ride performance of vehicle. Although it is considered in the 8-DOF model, the effect of the weight distribution of loading in a vehicle on the ride performance has not been considered. So in this dissertation, history and current situation of research on vehicle ride performance in China and abroad are summarized, and the influences of some concern factors, such as the vertical motion, the rolling motion and the pitching motion as well as the weight distribution of loading, to the vibration character of vehicle have been considered. Finally the simulation model of vehicle ride performance with multi-passengers is established. The motion equation of vehicle is established by use of the dynamic method, and its matrix form has been derived, then the vibration model is transformed to mathematical model. The laws of the change of acceleration and pitching angle in vehicle models of 5-DOF, 8-DOF, and 11-DOF, with the inputs of random excitation in 4-Wheel, are simulated by programs of MATLAB / SIMULINK. By analyzing curves in different kinds of simulation model and the comparison of related study results, the simulation mode of automotive ride performance with multi-passengers is proved to be reasonable and correct, which provides feasible basis for the research of automotive ride performance and the development of road simulated test-bed.
