Electric power is the pillar of the national economy and the safe and stable running of the electric power system is closely related to national construction and social stability. American electric power technology is developed, electric power grid interconnection is very strong and market running capacity is very mature, however, 8.14 Great Power Blackout Accident occurred unluckily. Actually, when these kinds of disastrous accidents stand in different evolvement stages, some opportunities really exist to terminate overturning of dominoes but can't be found out and controlled timely. On such premise, this article puts forward accidents chain monitor system for the electric power system based on on-engine Petri net by analyzing current research status in the safety field of the electric power system in combination with relevant contents of modern safety science.Firstly, this article summarizes current research status of related fields including safety monitoring on the electric power system and on-engine Petri net, deeply analyzes problems existing in the current safety monitoring on the electric power system and combines modern safety science to put forward to adopt on-engine Petri net to build accident chain model of the electric power system. Around how to build accident chain model of the electric power system with on-engine Petri net, adopt to improve Petri net model and bring forward layering Petri net structure aimed at state space inflation in the actual engineering application. Meanwhile, from different equipments components, respectively build single unit on-engine Petri net model about transformer accident, electricity transmission circuit accident and man-made misplay. Take transformer substation as a whole and build accident chain level Petri net model of transformer substation system. After adopting dynamic search method to obtain system-level accident chain, introduce a dynamic monitoring method to realize real-time monitoring on accident chain. Make use of results of quantitative analysis and adopt a group of control rules or optimization method to control occurring of concurrence accidents by matching to expected normal status. Later, this article puts forward monitoring system structure, data source and realization manner of accidents chain in the electric power system based on on-engine Petri net and also brings forward a combination method with traditional electric power safety monitoring system.Lastly, sum up the whole text and point out that accident chain monitoring in the electric power system needs further research.
