Power transformer is the fundamental equipment of the transmission and distribution of the power system, whose reliability has a direct impact on the security and steadiness of the power system. Statistical analysis reveals that insulation disfunction is one of the most important problems which affects the function of the transformer. Therefore, it is significant to supervise and analyze the insulation disfunction to make the power transformer running properly.The major research discussed in this dissertation goes along with the project named online supervision system of power transformer, which is cooperated with the GEZHOUBA Hydropower Plant of China Yangtze Power Co. Ltd. Based on the technology of nowadays insulation supervision of power transformer, aiming at the analysis of characters of major potential disfunctions of the power transformer, the dissertation discusses the necessity of online supervision of the power transformer, as well as summarizes various kinds of methods. Pointing at the specific characters of Yangtze 251B transformer and the characters of signals catched by sensors in every unit, indicates a selection of the computer for the system, highly introduces the function models and software's flow chart of the mobile station based on ultra high frequency and the electric current of the iron core. In order to meet the demand of creating digital models and making them useful in the diagnosis and location of disfunctions, the dissertation stimulates several 3D visible models of Yangtze 251B transformer as an index for technology database.The results of the field and lab experiments reveals that the system is able to measure the partial discharge signals in the real time survey, and sensitively monitor the amount of the electric current of the iron core from 0.5mA to 10A. The integrated online supervision of transformer can get the foreboding of disfunctions in time and through effectively controlling it can prevent disfunction from expanding. The system is worthwhile both in the nowadays and in the future.
