With the improvement of national economy, increasing of automobile output and short supply of power day by day and China has stipulated the fuel consumption regulations on each kind of cars. In addition, another problem needing to be solved on modern automobile engine technology is displacement. For grasping the development process of automobile engine technology, meeting with the above-mentioned two items of requirements, this paper tries to describe and discuss the new technology of the world on automobile engine combining with the actual development condition of Dongan Company at present on the view of automobile engine development. This paper introduces the development trend of automobile engine. It discusses the development of diesel engine, general gasoline engine, gasoline in-cylinder direct injection engine, VCM (variable cylinder management) technology of gasoline engine, gasoline hybrid engine, the fuel consumption and displacement performance and the problems occurred for these technologies. There are great advantages on the aspects of economical efficiency and displacement performance for gasoline in-cylinder direct injection engine DoD technology and gasoline hybrid engine and that shall catch our attention.Decreasing the fuel consumption of automobile is one of the important task needing to be solved urgently on automobile industry at present alongThe displacement of engines produced by Hafei Automobile Group covers a wide range, and Hafei has rich research and development base and has a certain advantage for using the existing technical base abroad. Furthermore, this paper givers the detailed argumentation on hybrid electric technology and provides production and research plan with operability combining the actual condition of the company for production and research at present.
