Nowdays car has become a part of life bringing convenience to people, but also consumes a lot of oil resources and pollutes the urban environment. Therefore lower car fuel consumption, low pollution and high-performance direction are inevitable trend of development. These improvements are mainly dependent on the progress of Automotive Electronic Technology.Automotive Powertrain engine manage system as the most crucial and most difficult of technology products, integrates sensors, new materials, machinery, chemistry, combustion science, electronic technology and other related subject knowledge. Gasoline powertrain electronic control unit is the gasoline engine on a milestone in the development process, it enables the fuel injection quantity, injection rate, ignition timing and emissions control of comprehensive and flexible. Currently part of the Chinese cities require the passage of the IV standard, in the next few years China will fully implement the standard, meanwhile this is the electric control system for gasoline performance requirements.This article describes the current powertrain technology in China. In order to achieve reduced emissions of pollutants and reduce the failure, Project members use Changfeng power cylinder gasoline engine CF4G16 basic model for the study. On the composition of gasoline engine powertrain and a comprehensive analysis of the control strategy, ECU is designed by using Freescale's new 32-bit controller MPC5634M.Through the experimental study,the design of electronic control units basically achieve fast start the engine, stable idle speed, fuel injection control, ignition control, electronic control system calibration and troubleshooting.According to characteristcs under different operation conditions of engine, the paper divides the gasoline conditions as six cases including start up, idle speed,part load,full load, acceleration, deceleration and stop injection.Then these conditions are in-depth analysis.The designed powertrain control system through in different situations related to MAP achieves the fuel injection system, ignition system, emissions of complete control. Powertrain control strategy for electronic control system developed using the popular V-development model, early adoption of Matalb/ Simulink model of control design, by hardware in the loop testing, will verify the control strategy adopted by the model into C code, then loaded into self-designed hardware and underlying software platforms.Through the topics, the design of powertrain prototype achieved the expected goal and makes the founding for the more in-depth study later.
