With the development of hardware and software technology and emergence of advanced manufacturing method, the virtual manufacturing(VM) technology with the whole novel machining system and mode is an inevitable trend for the modern manufacturing technique and system, based on the numeralized modeling, computerized simulation and analyzing optimization, which can imitate the whole future producing process and its influence on the design of the product in real time and concurrently, and predict the performance, cost and productability at designing phase or before processing phase, so it can achieve the optimization of the lead time and cost for the new product as well as the maximization of productivity. The virtual assembly is the major branch of the VM research field and one of support techniques for parallel engineering. The virtual assembly can solve the problem that the products is overly dependent on trial physical prototyping and assembling, improve the quality and speed of the assembling modeling, reduce developing cost and shorten lead time. After acquirement of product information and assembly processing information, the virtual assembly simulation can perform the dynamic assembling imitation and provide a visualizing interactive environment, so enhance assembling process and quality efficiently. The collision interference inspection is an important construction of the virtual assembly system, by means of computer's simulating assembling process, analyzing assembling result, appraising and forecasting model for the new products, which can detect the possibility of the collision during assembly process and make project decision without the actual product, so the 3-dimensional designing stage, the part's manufacturing stage and assembling stage are highly unified.With AutoCAD platform, Object ARX 2000 SDK for re-development tool, using Visual C++ 6.0 Object-oriented high-level development language, research and develop virtual dynamic assembly system of the three dimensional entity spare parts and interference inspection during assembly. Based on spatial vector direction,cosine analysis theory and three dimensional entity spare parts assembly restraint type, the paper analyses the structure method of assembly characteristic coordinate system, and figures out the structure of the space coordinate transformation matrix about virtual assembly. A set of virtual dynamic assembly software system in Win32 platform is designed and developed to solve inserting the assembled entity into the assembly drawing, and figure out the assembly way of the different assembly method such as dead in line and surface fitting, and realize three dimensional dynamic assembly process of the entity spare parts and interference inspection demonstration. In addition, the author presents a method which solves interference inspection of complex spare parts assembly process skillfully by stretching and revolving spare parts via the certain way, achieves the same purpose through the static interference inspection instead of the dynamic assembly inspection.
