With the rapid economic development in china, and the acuteness of the competence in the market, project plan management, as one of the three most important components of project management, gets more and more attentions. How to optimize the project schedule plan and to complete the project on schedule have been one of the major goals for project managers.Modern projects become more complex, more uncertain and more riskier.It’s hard to be finished in time. The effectiveness of project plan management is vital for the whole project.The large scale equipment manufacturing and assembling projects have a long life cycle, more investment and more influencing factors, so that it’s a great challenge to do the project plan management.This article focuses on the researches including the feasibility of utilizing simulation technology in the large-scale project plan management,the implementation process and the result.Firstly, this article introduces basic theorys of project plan management and its importance. Then this paper expounds the basic concepts of network planning technology, including the introductions of CPM, PERT and CCPM. On this basis, the article elicits the basic theory and the method of Monte Carlo simulation. Then the article analyzes the advantages of Monte Carlo simulation compared to other methods. It also describes the process of using Crystal Ball soft to perform Monte Carlo simulation in Excel. Through the project plan management of a Crane manufacturing and assembling project, it can put Monte Carlo simulation into practice. Before the official start, we can perform Monte Carlo simulation and evaluate experimental results.After that, we should optimize the plan to reduce the project risk, so that the project can be completed on schedule.With the aid of Monte Carlo simulation, we can analyse the process of project plan management more accurately and more reliably.It is hoped that this article which is about the application of performing Monte Carlo simulation can provide some useful reference for the successful progress of project plan management in future.
