| Car body is one of the three assemblies of vehicle. It should be finery, wide enough, clipper-built, the more important is that it should have enough strength,stiffness and excellent dynamical performance. So the improvement of vehicle structure design is very important. Finite Element Method is about a numerical value reckoning that the continuous body (continuous structure) is scattered. It brings the important effect on car body structural analysis.In this paper, the finite element model of car body (cab) is completed, strength,stiffness and modal are analyzed, and optimization of assembly is completed too. The main contents in this paper include:1. Based on the CAD model, the particular finite element models of parts are created in Hypermesh by modifying of the curve and surface etc. The degree of element quantity is above three hundred thousands which keep ahead natively.2. The main problem of building the finite element model have been studied, including predigestion of structure,choice of element type,controlling of element quantity,simulation of loading and constraining and so on. Especially the simulation of linking ways have been researched in detail, such as spring,the front & back hang of driver' s cab etc.3. Some typical working conditions of body in-white such as braking,steering and suspending are simulated in computer in this paper, the characteristics of stress and deformation of body are got, these can guide the design of automotive body.4. The modal analysis of body in-white is made in Hypermesh. By the results of modal analysis of the body in-white, the body' s natural dynamic features are got, and located some weakness of the structure. In the paper, it also find the main effect of body modal and give improved suggestion of bus body design. |
