With the application of information techniques to the battlefield, the battlefield environment has changed a lot. In this situation, it is urgently to strengthen the officers' Military Geography cognition abilities and to improve their analysis abilities. However, the current Military Geography education can not satisfy these requirements.As a completely new teaching method, e-Learning has the advantages of high interaction and low spatio-temporal restriction. So the application of e-Learning to the Military Geography Teaching and Training System can greatly change the education status quo. Because it not only can speed up the updating of the Military Geography knowledge, but also can improve the quality and the efficiency of the Military Geography education. As well, it is good to improve the officers' Military Geography cognition abilities and to optimize their knowledge structures.This paper mainly discussed the construction method of the Military Geography Teaching and Training System in the e-Learning environment. The major work what we have done in this dissertation is presented as follows:1. The constitutes of the Military Geography Teaching and Training System based on e-Learning have been discussed. A service oriented system architecture was proposed. As well, the main functions in the system and the transformation mechanism of the resources between different system modules have been studied.2. The latest requirements of the Military Geography teaching and training on the condition of information wars have been analysed. On this basement, the teaching and training content has been discussed. And a teaching and training model based on the computer supported collaborative learning has been designed.3. This paper have studied the types and the construction way of the teaching and training resources and proposed a Military Geography teaching resource aggregation model. The aggregation model adopted content encapsulation and meta-data description way to realize the sharing and reusable of these resources.4. A Military Geography Teaching and Training Archetype System has been designed and realized. This archetype system realized the service oriented loose coupling system architecture, and built up a collaborative learning environment.
