Active magnetic bearing (AMB) is one new type of high performance bearing which suspends the rotor in a contact-free manner. Because it has no mechanical contact, no friction, lower power consumption, lower noise, lasting service life and no environmental pollution, it becomes more and more useful in many areas. Therefore, the appearance of AMB is regarded as a revolution of bearing technology at home and at abroad. If the AMB technology is applied to support the rotate, it will be characterized by high precision, few heat, low dissipation, no noise and high clearness, which cannot be realized through hard rotates supported by other bearings.Because of its nonlinear and instability, the AMB must be controlled by the simulation controller or the digital controller. The properties of the AMB are based on the properties of the research of Controller of AMB. The controller not only decides whether the rotor supported by AMB could suspend steadily, but also affects directly the dynamic performance of the system and its precision. So, the paper mainly studies the control system thoroughly for AMB, especially the digital controller.In the thesis, the nonlinear dynamic mathematic model of single freedom magnetic levitation system is set up, and the linear mathematic models are designed through the linear methods in the vicinity of the equilibrium point. Then, the author gets the transfer function of the system. On the basis of its model, the stability and the anti-jamming are analyzed; the author designs the PI, PD, PID controller and the fuzzy controller. The main work is to design the fuzzy-PID controller, simulating on Matlab. Some methods and design steps of the controller are given. Simulations are made to the controllers; features and performance of each controller are gotten.On the basis of the analysis of the single freedom magnetic system, the 6 degree of freedom AMB is studied. First, the models of multi-freedom magnetic system are set up by analyzing its structure. Then, the paper uses the classic PID methods to control the system and simulate it. Because of the complexity of the coupling relationship, it proposes that the mathematic models are set up, by the method of decoupling and the state function and transfer function of the system are gotten. Then, the decoupling controller is designed. That is, the PID control method is carried on the decoupling mathematic models and the result is good. It presents that the properties of the latter system are better than before. For completing all control commands, the dissertation makes use of the TMS320LF2407 as the core to design the controller. Thereinto, the software of DSP has been made to realize all functions of models. The tasks of signal collection and sending the commands to IGBT would be carried out. According to the demands of the digital controller, a controller is designed using the digital signal processor (DSP) TMS320LF2407, including soft design and hardware design.At last, it is bare out thorough the simulation that the suspension can be obtained by using the controller mentioned above. And it has good properties.
