Ball valves are available in the 1950s,but it's one of the quickest developed valve breed during the resent years. Ball Valve is not only simple structure, good sealing property, but also that certain public within the smaller size, light weight, less consumption of materials, installation of small size, and driving torque small, simple and easy to achieve rapid hoist, easy operation and maintenance, not only apply to water, solvent, acid and general working media, such as natural gas, but also applies to the poor working conditions of media, it has become widely used. The dynamic characteristic analyses of the structural systems have become increasingly in structural dynamics field. This paper summarizes international and native research results on the dynamic characteristic analyses of the ball value, using the PRO/E software established a 3D model, through Pro / E and ANSYS interface and realized the Pro / E and ANSYS the data sharing, using ANSYS software, established a ball valve main parts - Valve finite element model. Based on the modal analysis theory, from the characteristics of the work of the valve start with the systematic application of the Finite Element Method of the technology, considered to improve the accuracy, and other factors, the successful conduct of the valve body modal analysis, are given the top 10 bands vibration frequencies and modes of the map reveals the valve body vibration characteristics, improve product design and provide a theoretical basis. This paper also combine practical application of welding Valve modal analysis method, and use of the outcome, effective for Valve in VSR choose excitation frequency, vibration mode and size provides a basis for welding residual stress VSR technology has played a guiding role in the development.
