The rescue helicopter has been proved to be one of the most effective means of assistance in practice. To a certain extent, the helicopter performance determines the effectiveness of search and rescue. There are several major factors which decide the helicopter flying qualities: the helicopter stability, handling, maneuverability and agility. Compared with the direct flight test, using the maritime SAR simulation system for flight guidance can not only increase the certainty of flight test and the results of predictability, it also reduces risk and saves resources, manpower and material etc.The key technologies of helicopter simulation module in simulation systems maritime SAR include: mathematical model of helicopter movements, virtual environment, visual and control system. In this paper, the author has researched on the mathematical model of the helicopter and established a model then verified it.The helicopter is a multi-body system. The movement coupling, inertia coupling structure coupling and aerodynamic coupling of the main rotor, body and lifting surface, as well as non-stationary, non-linear characteristics bring the helicopter flight dynamics modeling a lot of difficulties. As the research on the rotor flow, aerodynamics, and other complex physics phenomena study is immature, the use of the helicopter mathematical models differs a lot. In this paper, the author establishes the dynamics model of rotor, tail rotor and fuselage using the Diverging law. Every part of the aerodynamics is established in different coordinate system, then transferred to the body coordinates to establish a complete mathematical model of a helicopter.Model validation is the necessary component in modeling. In order to verify the credibility and to judge the rationality of theory and method for modeling, it is necessary to do model validation. Experimental flight tests with the real helicopter are the main basis to verify the model. This paper verifies the model in the hover flight condition by MATLAB and obtains the good simulation results. It can meet the requirement of the helicopter simulation in maritime SAR simulation system.
