12Cr1MoV heat-resistant alloy steel is extensively applied the major components in thermal power plant such as the main steam pipe etc. Since material is long-term at elevated temperature, high pressure and bad conditions, degeneration and invalidation of material performance are unavoidable. This paper studied variation of microstructure and performance of this steel by ageing treatment and this steel steam pipe through different run time. And carry out creep-rupture strength tests, forecast this steel life. These studies were by optical microscope, grain size analysis, microhardness tester, scanning electronic, energy spectrum analysis and transmission electron microscope etc. analytical method.This steel is high-chromium heat-resistant steel. Discover the mechanism of microstructure development and performance deterioration of this steel development the mechanism of function deterioration at elevated temperature by studying this steel by ageing treatment, this steel steam pipe and creep-rupture strength tests. Temperature, stress and time have important influence to this steel.This steel had better organization stability because this steel did not recrystallize keeping a long time or running a long time at elevated temperature. This microstructure degenerated at elevated temperature or the long-term combined action of high temperature and stress, Especially quantity, shape and distribution of carbide. In addition martensite structural and dislocation substructure also occured change and alloy element poor occured in solid solution. Adopting microhardness checked material mechanics function, at the meantime, proved correctness of microstructure analysis. The results showed that the degradation of heat-resistant material after long-term aging at elevated temperature is the comprehensive results of the evolutions of various structural scales in the tested material.Through creep-rupture strength tests, extrapolated creep-rupture strength limit, forecasted the steel life, and analyzed the reliability of life forecast.
