According to the domestic inertia of the system needs of high-precision gyroscopes, the paper design a resonant fiber optic gyroscope(R-FOG) that is based on Sagnac effect, and make some analysis and simulation experiments for its core sensitive components of the ring resonator.In this thesis, the theory of resonation R-FOG is analyzed first. The resonation characteristic of the key component--resonation cavity and the sensitivity limit of R-FOG are analyzed deeply. The mutual relationship between the sensitivitylimit and both the laser dimension and the coupling coefficient is mainly analyzed. A kind of system structure of cross-coupled R-FOG is brought forward based on theoretical analysis. The performances of key optical components are tested under current condition of our laboratory. The initial test of the resonator has finished. We established a testing devices and observed the phenomenon of optical resonator resonance . Such test shows that each part of design can basically satisfy the system design requirement.
