The South Tower in the Lujiazui Financial Trade District X2 is a composite SRC frame-RC core building. The height of the 53-storeyed building is 250m, with structural system of the mega-columns, annular trusses, the reinforced concrete core and the outrigger trusses to resist the lateral loads. The first strengthened story is located between 20~22 story. The second strengthened story between 37~39 story served as transfer story, while the mega-columns transfer to the closed columns. According to the Technical Specifications for Concrete Structures of Tall Building (JGJ3-2002), the height of the building obviously exceeds the stipulated maximum height of 190m for a composite frame/reinforced concrete core building. On the other hand, the vertical components for resisting the lateral loads along the height of the structure are discontinuous with the rigid transfer stories at higher level.First of all, this dissertation focuses on the shaking table test of the structural model. The evaluations of the dynamic characteristic, seismic responses and seismic behavior of this specific structure are performed based on the all-round,systematic and deeping study of the structural concept. Finally the shaking table testing methodologies are studied after the test.The whole process of the design and the fabrication of the structural model of the South Tower, and the operation of the test are introduced in details in the dissertation. After the analyzing of the test results, the analysis results shows that the main seismic indices meet the requirements of current codes in principle, so seismic behaviors of the structure are satisfied, and the designed and fabricated shaking table testing model can reflect the performances of the prototype.In order to study the model carrying capacity and the whole process similarity based on the element directly and effectively, the static test of the steel reinforced concrete model columns is conducted. The axial compression ratio and shaped steel reinforcement ratio are taken into consideration in the test. The influences of those two parameters on the carrying capacity of the steel reinforced concrete model column are analyzed. Finally, inspect and verify the whole process similarity of the model and prototype, in order that the design and fabrication of other shaking table testing model can have some references.
