The electrical comprehensive control cubicle in the train consists of a variety of control units with a certain difficulty in its overhaul and maintenance. As disassembly of electrical parts is inconvenient and it will probably increase the risk of accidents or even cause fire, taking parts apart and check are seldom conducted on the spot. But, the current collocated ground electrical switch laboratory bench is too huge to be competent to online test and it can not ensure the seurity and reliability of electrical parts. In order to ensure the safe and punctual operation of trains, it is urgent to collocate the portabler tester to improve the current passive situation. There is still no special instrument for online test of the undisassembled electrical parts, so this thesis researches the techenology of the "portable control cubicle electrical switch tester" and realizes it.Facing to the need of the tester's function, this thesis conducts many researches in terms of reduction of volume, improvement of performance and concentration of functions: adopting of MCU with high performance and low energy consumption and all kinds of CMOS chips; making the system more compact, convenient and pragmatic; focusing the test function on two types of electrical switch, the air-break switch and the contactor. The tester's charateristics of flexibility and conveniene will enable itselve more adaptable to the rigorous on-the-spot test conditions, bringing more into play.In the course of realizing the tester, this thesis also conducts the researches on the application of ARM technology for high performance, low cost and low energy consumption. The typical of high integration level and low power consumption——32-bit ARM7 processor is chosen in this system, which is widely applied and has mature techenology. Base on this, this thesis researches and applies some other peripheral chips (such as ZLG7290, SP708S, SP3232) with specific professional functions in the system to perfect the function of the whole system and realize the specific test function, including the system reset, the serial interface transmission, the I~2C bus-mastering, the keyboard control, the display screen control and the signal rectifier- filter, etc. Concerning chips realizing the aforesaid functions, this thesis researches their function features, usage and specific circuit realization in detail.With researching the techenology, this thesis realizes the portable tester. After assembly, operation of the portable tester is on a normal track. It can be conveniently used to accurately measure the control cubicle electrical switch. On September 25, 2007, it successfully went through the evaluation and examination by the Shanghai Railway Bureau.
