Risk analysis and reliability research of tunnels lining are very vital and necessitous problems, and the purpose is to solve risk evaluation and reliability forecast of the tunnels lining system. The study on subject has important economic benefit, and social benefit, and it not only has important meaning to improve the level of tunnel design and project construction in our country but also has significant academic benefit. The main wok in this paper can be concluded as follow:1. Classified common tunnel diseases to several types: water disaster, lining structural disease, lining corrosion, harm of bad gas, frost damage, roadbed disease, earthquake disaster and fire disaster, also analyzed the causation of these diseases in detail. On this foundation, the influence factors of tunnels lining durability and their work orderliness were concluded.2. Some risk factors and damage types of tunnels lining were identified in detail, and the standard of lining risk evaluation was also given. In order to evaluate the risk classification about existing tunnel lining system, the method of fault tree analysis (FTA) was used to establish a lining FTA model, and the calculation about the FTA model was done according to the logicality of basic incidents. Then all the basic incidents were classified to four types according to their characteristics. The evaluation method of the importance of risk factors was also discussed.3. The Reliability Theory was induced for determining the probability of conditional stochastic events for the risk evaluation of tunneling lining. And the numerical value analysis flow to calculate the probability using Probabilistic Design System (PDS) of ANSYS software was given. An application of Monte-Carlo Method in ANSYS for the disabled probability of lining structure was given, and some analysis was done to the result.4. Damage types of shield tunnels lining and risk factors were identified according to theirs characteristics. The method of fault tree analysis (FTA) was used to perfect a lining FTA model on foundation of the existing model for tunnels lining in construction period and to establish a lining FTA model for existing tunnels lining. Then the dissertation gave an application of risk assessment for the shield tunnel lining according to the established theoretic system. The importance of every risk factor was also calculated in the dissertation.5. The dissertation studied risk control measures of tunnel lining according to the probability of risk factors given before. And the waterproof and drainage system of composite lining of Jin-Li-Wen Highway Tunnel was introduced.
