Paper introduces the development of pile groups settlement at home and aboard at first.Based on the initial work of modified load transfer method with unified tri-linear model in my research group, the reinforcement-curtain effect of pile groups and contact action between cap and soil in low cap pile groups are further considered in research.The modified load transfer method is introduced simply, mainly focusing on the way to cope with problems.The Generalized Shear Displacement Method is introduced first, then based on that, reduction factor is studied via the interaction coefficient between piles put forward by Poulos, which stands for reinforcement-curtain effect brought up by establishing two piles interaction model. Applying the reduction factor to the analysis of pilr groups, load-settlement behavior and load distribution is studied in terms of length-diameter ratio and space-diameter ratio. Reduction factor is studied further with nonlinear taken into account by applying unified tri-linear model to the analysis of reinforcement -curtain effect. In the last place, the rationality of this method is also verified by model experiment.The cap-pile-soil model is solved separately, which is divided into cap-pile model and cap-soil model with superposition method put forward by Chow & Teh. With Generalized Shear Displacement Method being true to low-cap piles, pile-soil load share ratios of single pile are worked out from hypothesis of pile perfect rigidity and unperfect rigidity. Considering the shaft compression of pile, pile-soil load share ratio is studied througth number of pile element, length-diameter ratio, pile-soil modular-ratio and modular-ratio of pile end soil to soil around pile. Pile-soil load share ratio of low cap pile group is studied by the same way, and the mean is verified via a pile group model test.
