Studies of typical pavement structure can make pavement structure design standard, chart, standardization and targeted. In order to develop Guangxi's asphalt pavement reasonable, this paper studies the typical structure of asphalt pavement for Guangxi's highway systematically.Based on the surveys of asphalt pavement structure, traffic conditions, soil conditions and the roads damaged condition, this paper summarizes and analysis asphalt pavement structure that are usually used, the type of the destruction of roads and the reason of destruction, providing a fundamental basis. This paper studies the scope of traffic volume and make a grade of traffic volume in Guangxi. Based on the surveys of soil conditions, the paper studies the strength and scope of subgrade of highway and make a grade basing on the analysis of sensitivity. Through dividing the traffic volume grade, dividing intensity grade of soil base, pavement material design parameter, pavement structure combination design and integrating some matter of fact and the theoretical, the author proposes a typical structure which is suit for asphalt pavement in Guangxi. Finally, through summarizing the expansive soil's engineering and strength characteristic and the distress of subgrade and pavement, according to the analysis the geogrid reduce the effect of pavement by finite element analysis of mechanics, the author presents the typical structure of asphalt pavement in expansive soil regions of Guangxi.The result of this paper is strong targeted. It can plays a great role in the develop of the highway in Guangxi.
