The asphalt pavement has the driving comfortably, the construction period short, open up traffic quick and so on the merits, is widely applied in the high class pavement, but because the ordinary asphalt mixture itself high temperature stability and the fatigue resistance can be bad, also along with the economical development, volume of traffic enlargement as well as reasons and so on overload contrary travel, the asphalt pavement appears highway distress too early ,such as wheel rut and fatigue crack, has affected the road traffic security as well as the road service life seriously. Therefore, this article in view of bituminous pavement common wheel rut disease, proposed the topic research on the road performance of SEAM (Sulfur-Extended Asphalt Modifier) modified asphalt and the bituminous mixture, adding SEAM to the bituminous mixture for enhancing the bituminous mixture the high temperature stability performance. The experiment proved, not only SEAM can enhance the bituminous mixture anti-wheel rut ability, the anti-fatigue capability as well as other roads the performance, but also be able to reduce the construction temperature, save the energy, replace the partial asphalt to slow down the supply tense phenomenon of asphalt, therefore adding SEAM to the bituminous mixture has the vital practical significance.This article through adding SEAM into the asphalt and the bituminous mixture to carry on the massive laboratory tests, these tests to the SEAM bituminous mixture concluding Marshall experiment, wheel rut experiment, freezing and thawing split test, low temperature split test, wearing test as well as endurance test and so on experimental studies. The test result indicated that: (1) mixes the quantity along with SEAM the increase, the asphalt high temperature stability and the temperature susceptibility gradually enhances, mixes SEAM by the quantity is under 20%~40% condition, compared the ordinary asphalt, the 90# asphalt and the 70# asphalt increased separately 2.3~8.1℃and 5.6~15.5℃;(2)when mixing SEAM by the quantity reaches 40%, can obviously enhance the bituminous mixture the Marshall stability, and reduces the flow value, increases the Marshall module, but when mixing SEAM by the quantity is lower than 30%, changes not in a big way, is close with the ordinary bituminous mixture; (3)SEAM may enhance the fatigue performance of the bituminous mixture obviously, mixing SEAM by the quantity in binder is under 20%~40% condition, makes the bituminous mixture the fatigue life to enhance near one time;(4)SEAM may enhance the bituminous mixture high temperature stability obviously, along with the increase of mixing SEAM by the quantity in the binder, the wheel rut stability increases unceasingly, rang from 20%~40%, which enhance the bituminous mixture blend to move stably reaches 5700 most greatly, increases 1~2 times compared to the ordinary bituminous mixture; (5)SEAM is not obvious to the bituminous mixture water stability influence, and can satisfy the standard the request;(6)the low temperature performance of the bituminous mixture mixed SEAM by the quantity in binder is close with the ordinary bituminous mixture, causes the bituminous mixture the low temperature stability to reduce obviously by no means; (7)but when mixing SEAM by the quantity in binder to be lower than under 10% condition, the SEAM bituminous mixture high temperature performance, the tensile strength, the weary performance drop, therefore, as for mixing SEAM by the quantity in binder to the bituminous mixture should not to be lower than 20%.This article has studied the performance of the SEAM modified asphalt and the asphalt, through analyzing the result of laboratory tests, had understood the performance of the SEAM bituminous mixture, and then research the construction craft and the performance-to-price ratio of the SEAM bituminous mixture, has provided the instruction and the reference for the next SEAM bituminous mixture practical application.
