Static var generator(SVG), which is very important in the field of FACTS, has many advantages, such as quick response, smooth adjustment, flexible control, wide operational range. Traditional SVG can improve not only the power quality of wind power generation, but also the transient behavior by injecting large amounts of reactive power. In this paper, a split-phase synchronizing control strategy based on resonance adjuster is proposed, which can supply the reactive power to system at the beginning of failure to restrain voltage descent. Meanwhile, the proposed strategy can resolve the problem of voltage descent caused by asymmetric fault and extend the application of traditional control strategy to improve the low voltage ride-through of wind power. In addition, high-capacity energy storage devices, which can adjust reactive and active power are installed at DC side. It is quite helpful to improve the operation of wind power system. According to the three aspects mentioned above, SVG applied in wind power system to improve the voltage stability is analyzed. The accuracy of the proposed method is demonstrated by MatLab simulation results.
