The necessity and importance of large-sized rotary monitoring and diagnosing system to modern industry and science development has been analyzed. With the developing of modern communications technology and computing technologies, monitoring and diagnosing equipment remotely has been available, and the detailed progresses of fault diagnosis both from oversea and domestic are discussed. Based on the fundamental knowledge, atlas, methods and procedures of large-sized rotary monitoring and diagnosing system, S8000, which is exploited to meet the requirement of monitoring and diagnosing remotely, is introduced including sensitive monitoring and expert diagnosing system. The application of S8000 to kelamayi petrochemical corporation is interpreted and logging on explore system by LAN or internet can be realized to monitor condition timely and analyze fault automatically. By practicing, the successful experience of monitoring condition timely and analyzing fault automatically has been gotten which will provide significant meaning to equipment's long term running safely as well as managing scientifically.
