With the rapid progress of network technology, it has had great effects on people'sdaily life; meanwhile, it also promotes a lot of technology changes in industry. In this paper, based on Internet technology a new system of monitoring condition and diagnosing fault for high output turbo-generator units are designed and realized.Chapter one describes the history, status and development of the system of monitori ng condition and diagnosing fault for turbo-generator. It also deals with the background and the aim of the research work of this paper.The second chapter is about the theory of on-line monitoring, data analyzing and fault diagnosing . Some important parameters and methods applied in the system are described in detail too.The realization of the long-distance monitoring condition and diagnosing fault depends on the network communication, database technique, and web technique and software development tools, so chapter three discusses the computer technology relative to the long-distance monitoring condition and diagnosing fault.Six mam aspects of system of long-distance monitoring condition and diagnosing fault are presented in chapter four. The first aspect is to decide the amount and locati on of the measurement points; the second is to design the whole architecture of the system; the third is to describe the structure of the software; the forth is to construct the database system; the fifth is to design a background processing program, and the last aspect is about the Web application. Especially, the application of the control of ADO and Active in the field of long-distance monitoring condition and diagnosing fault has been discussed systemically.Chapter five includes a lot of illustrations of the system to show the functions of the software, and introduces the operating method.In the last chapter of the paper, the research work is summarized and some of the main conclusion is drawn; and the author explicates some of the developing aspects of the technology of PC-based monitoring condition and diagnosing fault for the coming research work.
