Generator simulator is an electronic device which could simulate the main operating characteristics of generator. Three-phase sine voltage signal of the generator simulator is low and the driving ability is weak, so we should develop a power amplifier which should be adapted to the generator simulator. In this dissertation, all kinds of power amplifier are analyzed and compared, and we developed a switching power amplifier (kind of class D amplifier) which is suitable for the generator simulator. The generator simulator does not have the rotor, according to the characteristic of the generator simulator, we make some research on generator simulator with a power amplifier combined in the grid.In this paper we expound the exploring process of the power amplifier, such as the function planning, design and simulation of electric circuit module, design of PCB board, manufacture and debug of the model machine. By analyzing the experiment, the design results gained emulation experiment and the actual device scheme is proven to be valid and feasible.
