The working principle and system characteristic of the speed regulation system using cascade control method with thyristor are studied in the paper, and the parameters of the main loop are analyzed and calculated in detail, then the formulas used in computation are given, and the parameter calculation is achieved through software; the control system adopts dual close loop, namely inner current feed loop and outer rotational speed feed loop, control system, and the system developed was studied in simulation using MATLAB; against the inherent shortcomings of inverter with thyristor, such as inverter failure, the active inverter comprising IGBT power transistor is adopted and simulation study is carried out; the field test and analysis demonstrate that the speed-adjusting system has achieved the proposed effect which promise a broad application prospect of the speed adjusting system in areas such as speed regulation and power saving in high-power wind turbine, pump loads.
