Study On Back-to-back HVDC Pole Control System

The pole control, as the key subsystem of back-to-back HVDC control system, plays an important role in converter stations safety operation. In this paper, the performance requirement of back-to-back pole control is presented. The fundamental function of pole control and how to accomplish its function are studied. The pole control solution for back-to-back HVDC project has been proposed in this paper. It is emphasized on aspects of hierarchical structure, the configuration of hardware and software etc. Modeling of basic function such as constant current control,constant extinction angel control and limit function are realized based on PSCAD/EMTDC. The model is applied to HVDC criterion testing system I-Cigre Benchmark main circuit. The simulation results show that most of the control system Settings has a good track changes in the capacity of the reference value. Finally, the Lingbao back-to-back converter station control system is the test results were analyzed.
