W-flame boiler is the main method to solve and burn the anthracite coal. From the early 1990s, China began to introduce W-flame burning boilers used for low-volatile coal, noW they have become the main boilers of the loW-volatile coal combustion.This thesis completed the experimental study on combustion commission of W-flame boiler combined the practice operation of Beihai Power Plant based on studying of W-flame boiler structure, combustion characteristics and accident analysis. It reviewed the influence of air distribution, change of coal rank and load on combustion, measured the furnace temperature distribution, analyzed the influence of furnace temperature, air distribution and load on NO_X emission and measured the flue gas component, measured pulverized coal fineness and fly ash carbon and obtained the optimized operation mode. The results show that fly ash carbon reduced from 28% to 6~9%, supply coal consumption reduced from 349g/kWh to 328~344g/kWh. The economic index is advanced in the same kinds of unit. It is the reference of the safe and economic operation of the same kinds of unit of power plant.
