Combining the Global Positioning System (GPS) and Geographic Information System (GIS) in rail traffic, which could increase positioning precision, reduce trackside equipment, decrease the cost of construction and maintenance, has become a development direction in Train Control System. In order to realize train precise positioning and improve GPS positioning precision, a well-constructed Digital Track Map has to be designed. Digital Track Map could improve the real-time performance and accuracy of train positioning, which has very important effects. Aim at the demands of train control, the model, design and validation of Digital Track Map is studied systematically. The research content of the thesis is a part of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), which named" Key Algorithms and Methods study on automatic generation of Digital Track Map for rail control".Firstly, combine the feature of geographical network topology model and rail traffic, the advantage and disadvantage of two geographical network topology are analyzed, the whole process of Digital Track Map modeling is studied according to the above modeling method. Secondly, based on the Graph Theory and Object Oriented Theory, the character and correlative relation of spatial data and object property data are studied systematically, the design of Digital Track Map was realized, and realized the data search and matching. Finally, a new verification algorithm is proposed, which can test connectivity, rationality and correctness of Digital Track Map according to graph depth first Search algorithm and object property of train control.The main function of Digital Track Map is realized in VC++ environment, which includes data input, map display, object property setting and map verification, etc. After gathering GPS data from Beijing Sanjidian station, the paper made a research on transformation and rotation of coordinates. GPS data is displayed on computer appropriately and that verifies the design at the same time.
