High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) is one of the promising results in non-invasive thermal ablation techniques of tumor in recent years. Since ultrasound can penetrate into soft tissues, using the ultrasound peculiar capability of penetration, orientation and focusing, HIFU is a method of focusing ultrasound waves on a particular area, which can cause acute cell impairment with high temperature in a little time and finally lead tissue death due to coagulate necrosis.Based on the limitations of HIFU existing in the market, this research designs a computer application system in the HIFU therapy system. It mainly consists of two main components: Nurse Workstation (NW) and Doctor Workstation (DW).Nurse Workstation (NW) realizes the server functions including image processing and move control, In NW, image processing deals with capturing B-scan image, pre-processing B-scan image and transmitting B-scan image. Move control realizes transmission of therapy parameters and therapy instructions during operation.Doctor Workstation (DW) connects with NW as a client, using services provided by NW to realize three functions: B-scan image process before operation, operation plan making and operation control. DW detect tumor edge in ultrasound image transmitted from NW to realize image process before operation. This paper develops a new method of combination of manual recognition and computer half-automatic recognition to detect and edges of tumor images. According to the edged images, the cure points can be positioned, which realizes the purpose of curing tumor.
