The 3D visualization design for railway plays an important role in line construction, which is better for improving the design of environment and the quality of design. At the same, it provides a way to exchanges ideas among rail way designers, non-professional policy makers and other designers. The simulation on reality of railway line, the 3D visualization of key railway lines on a virtual reality will play an important theoretical and practical value.This thesis focuses on the characteristics of virtual reality simulation technology and how to apply the railway line design, which combined computer graphics, scientific visualization, human-computer interaction principle, realistic image rendering, 3D model for the landscape and other key technologies. The establishment of a railway line 3D simulation method, which conducted the proposed to establish a line of virtual reality simulation system.In the process of establishing systems, the paper focuses on the use of railway line design in the investigation of the terrain data, the 3D topographical model has been established on the computer. Structures will be classified mainly in the roadbed, bridges, tunnels, track, the thesis set standard for structures and established the 3D model of the structures, which study on the base of the plane cross sectional of bridges, tunnels, roadbed, and call the 3D model of lines and structures, the paper generated eventually 3D model of the landscape and other design data structures.The application of virtual reality technology will substantially change the boring way which can only be used for dealing with the symbols and data, which can be used to improve design efficiency, improve results of design, we desire to improve the development of design, which can improve design efficiency.
