China is a country with a high-density population but a lack of land resources. To ensure a sufficient amount of farmland as well as the sustainable development of the macro economy , reclamation has become an effective way to increase land area. However, with the long process of reclamation, oceanic provinces are now facing the same problem of less and less resources in high beach areas. Reclamation has been shifted to push forward in low beach areas as well, where the flow of water is stronger, waves heavier and water deeper. The area of reclamation is often affected by waves from the open sea and the elevation is frequently below low tide, which has given rise to a series of serious problems with the reclamation technique. The thesis intends to make several studies based on the case of the north sea wall reclamation project in Yanshan deepwater port. The studies focus on key technologies in open sea reclamation projects in low beach areas, which include the following:(1) Based on the study of current and developing trends in reclamation projects, both domestic and overseas, the subject thesis will focus on the layout format of open-sea reclamation in low beach areas. The study will pay special attention to the construction categories, sea wall structure,surface-protection structures and treating method of soft foundation. (2) Through the analysis of the layout of the north-sea wall reclamation in Yanshan, the article analyzes of the axis layout of reclamation projects in low beach areas, as well as the special requirements for the layout format of reclamation projects in low beach areas. In addition, the article also gave recommendations on promoting deposit layout.(3) According to the study on north sea wall structure in Yangshan, the article provides a thorough analysis of the structural aspects of the north sea wall, drawing the conclusion that optimal structural shape for the sea wall structure should be should be that of a sloping mound, reinforced by plastic drainage plate. Finally, the whole project is to be divided into two steps, a lower dam and an upper dam.
