It is a new way to limit energy using and a trend to solar energy application that large-scale center solar heating system.On the basis of flat plate collector, large-scale center solar heating system considering buildings with heat pipes is studied and manufactured , which is a subject of jiangsu province.Heat transfer mechanism of the two-phased closed thermosyphon using in this system was analysed. And a new lumpedparameter model of heat pipe on normal working status is developed. This paper presents a comparative study between theoretical model predictions and experimental results of heat pipe and solar collector system. The theoretical model for the heat pipe solar collector is based upon the method by Duffie and Beckman (1980),modified to use for energy transport of heat pipes.The working fluid of heat pipes is a mixture of water, acetone and glycol.The author gives the theory of mixture working fluid heat pipe. The perfomence of heat pipe is tested,and the results indicate that the entire temperature difference of heat pipe is very little.This paper makes theoretical analysis on decreasing heat loss with convection and radiation after putting a layer of mylar film between absorber plate and cover in collector. Also presented in this paper are comparative experimental results of the proposed solar collector and a conventional commercial solar collector. The results are got at the same time. The instantaneous efficiencies of the heat pipe solar collector system is lower than the conventional collector in the morning and higher when the heat pipes reach their operating temperature. At the same time the system overcome some disadvantages that can not endure high pressure, explode, freeze, easily scaled, and so on, which is all the evacuated glass tube or plate collector system often faces . Considering the low cost of the plate collector, we take full use of the large-scale area of the building, install the center solar heating system as a whole. The structure shows the advantage of center heating supply. It assures the consumers use heat water fully.
