In accordance with the present seismic design thinking by the construction of the building structure is generally a better performance of the collapse, to be effective in lowering due to structural collapse and loss of life, but from the structural damage arising from the economic losses are staggering, most are more than the expected objectives. Therefore, some experts and scholars at home and abroad in recent years have put forward performance-based seismic design ideas and methods. It as a new advanced seismic design philosophy, and traditional thinking compared to the seismic design of a multi-level, comprehensive and flexible, and other characteristics, can accurately understand and master of the damage in the quake, structural analysis of the weak floors and components, in order to enable designers to take corresponding measures on the structure of the seismic processing, thereby improving and enhancing the structure of seismic performance.Based on the analysis of domestic and international performance-based seismic design ideas and methods on the basis of research results, some important factors influencing on the result of pushover analysis method, such as horizontal force distribution, target displacement, high-model problem, structure model, etc, are discussed. The basic principle and procedure of capacity spectrum method in TAC-40 were studied. By the assumptions, MDOF are transformed into equivalent SDOF. And the seismic demand spectrum is discussed.Applying ETABS structural analysis software, a reinforced concrete frame -shear wall structure model is built in program for analysis. Furthermore, the pushover analysis of the building was carried out under frequent and rare earthquake. And, the frequent earthquake's analysis result and the elastic analysis result have carried on the contrast. The seismic performance of the building under rare earthquake was evaluated, and the weak link in the structure was discovered. This paper also used steel reinforced concrete to carry on to the structure weak spots strengthened, and the pushover analysis of the strengthened structure was carried out under frequent and rare earthquake. The seismic performances of the building before and after strengthened were comprehensively evaluated, to get a series of conclusions and suggestions with reference value for design of practical engineering. It provided theoretical bases for further Research on Performance-Based Seismic Design Method of this kind of Structures.
