Research And Protection Of Traditional Time-honored Brand (Intangible Cultural Heritage) And Its Architectural Environment

This thesis explores and does some research on the protection of time-honored Brand of Xi'an (intangible cultural heritage) and its architectural environment. The content includes why we should protect the cultural heritage of time-honored shops, what kind we should protect and how to protect. By using the experience of our country and other countries on protection and renewal of time-honored shops for reference and considers the condition of Xi'an, it does some research and analysis on history, culture and business and discusses the implementation of protection and renewal on material and intangible cultural heritage on time-honored shops in Xi'an and solves the problem exists in culture inheriting and promoting.In the first part (chapter 1, chapter2, chapter3), this thesis mainly expounds and explores two key points: the protection of time-honored shops and the protection of the intangible cultural heritage. Meanwhile it analyzes the scientific basis and its significance of protection of time-honored Brand.This thesis considers and emphasizes that we should protect not only the material heritage such as architectural environment but also the intangible cultural heritage such as traditional making method during the process of protecting time-honored Brand.It is very important to combine these two parts systematically because this makes the whole significance in protection of cultural heritage and is suitable to the essence of the definition of cultural heritage and has the sense of the times and urgency.In the rest part (chapter4, chapter5, chapter6), the thesis combines with real example, does some research on the objects of protection of time-honored brand and the plan of protection and it poses the writer's idea and assumption. The research scope is within Xi'an city. The thesis investigates the city effect of the present conditions and business distribution of material cultural heritage and intangible cultural heritage from which the thesis draws the functional position of time-honored brand in Xi'an and makes it as the standard of protection and development of time-honored brand. With the help of the idea of renewal on a small scale, this thesis does some research on architectural environment and intangible culture and business. On aspect of protection and development of building and environment and research on some important buildings of time-honored brand in urban district, this thesis considers that it could conclude the basic information of building, summarize and evaluate, and then establish the way of protection following its sequence. This provides reference on implementation of protecting and developing. In addition, in view of the different material carriers which carry different culture of time-honored brand, it could clear up and classify one by one, and make them gained the better protecting and inheriting.As the intangible culture, on aspect of stimulating, imparting and inheriting the way of management of some distinguished shops and the making method of some distinguished commodity, and by sorting out and studying real examples in Xi'an, it considers that people should explore and sort out the culture of time-honored brand further and reserve and inherit it by using the material method.On aspect of business, this thesis defines the commercial niche of time-honored brand and analyzes their successes and failures in history. It considers that people should renew and readjust and present commerce through the way of protecting and renewing time-honored brand and adjusting business structure. This thesis poses that people could establish the traditional time-honored brand which have the feature of modern times by drawing the atmosphere of modern business.The significance of this thesis lies in that it explores and investigates the protection of time-honored brand in material cultural heritage and intangible cultural heritage. This can be consulted in how to protect the time-honored brand in Xi'an integratedly. The writer hope that it could attract more people to protect the time-honored brand and cultural heritage by the exploration and attempt and preserve the cherish wealth our ancestor left.
