At present, steel tubular structures have got a wide application in the field of structural engineering of China, Especially have a wide range of applications in light of the large-span roof of the building. The rigidity of rotation of joints has great influence on the load and deformation property of steel tubular joints structures.Because of the influence of the behavior of joints and various complicated geometric shape, not only material and geometrical nonlinear but also the inelastic property of joints should be included in the analysis regarding the rigidity of rotation of tubular joints. But, because the rigidity of rotation around the joints is complicated, little information was available. In china, the research about the directly welded joints has been developed for a short time; and no mature designing specification can be observed, which leads to restrict its applications to some extent. This paper has the important theoretical and practical value.Using a Non-linear Finite-element software(ANSYS9.0) applied a numerical analysis, this paper applied a numerical analysis on the rigidity of rotation of Y and K-shape circular tubular joints ,which including d0/t0,d1/d0,d0,d1/t1,θand so on.And based on a series of numerical analysis of steel tubular Y-joints and K-joints of various geometric parameters, the effect of the various geometric parameters on the rigidity of rotation of circular tubular joints had been investigated. Then by using the regression analysis method, this paper worked out a group of Reasonable equations for the calculation of the rigidity of rotation .at last, this paper compared circular tubular joints with Square tubular joints on the rigidity of rotation, then got the difference and Common of the two joints.
